When a horse sweats, it not only loses fluid, but also body minerals sodium, potassium, chloride, calcium and magnesium. These substances play an essential role in muscle metabolism and are all called electrolytes. If the lost electrolytes are not replaced, endurance will decrease. In case of significant deficiencies, dehydration and colic may occur. If a horse has difficulty doing work or feels lethargic, it may be necessary to give the electrolytes.
Pavo E'lyte: complete electrolyte supplement
Pavo E'lyte is an electrolyte supplement and contains all necessary body minerals in the correct measured proportions. In particular, the ratio is important for correct filling. Pavo E'lyte contains extra magnesium because horses lose this mineral when they sweat and magnesium's role in body processes should not be underestimated. Many other electrolytes do not contain magnesium, or only a minimum of this. The product does not contain wheat and is therefore suitable for a gluten-free diet.
Replace electrolytes both summer and winter
A horse does not only sweat in the summer when it is hot. In winter, after a high intensity training or competition, it may also be necessary to replace electrolytes. When a horse is clipped, it results in the sweat drying faster, it may seem as if they are not sweating as much. Make sure those horses get enough electrolytes. Lethargy is an important sign of deficiencies.
Feed recommendation Pavo E'lyte
Horses often have to get used to the taste of electrolytes. Start with smaller amounts and gradually increase the amount. Mix Pavo E´lyte with the feed. For picky horses, apple juice or similar can help. Alternatively, mix the electrolytes with apple juice and use an injector to inject it into your mouth.

Feeding rules
Give Pavo E'lyte two to three days before competition so it can build up a reserve. In cases with general work is 100 grams daily enough. In case of high-intensity performances or very hot weather, give 200 grams daily.
